Our Story

Seventh Heaven Pet Care Dog Training is a leading provider of Positive Reinforcement Dog Training services in the local area. With a passion for animals and a dedication to their well-being, we have been serving our community since 2019.

My name is Jenny Stevens, I am the Owner of Seventh Heaven Pet Care and a Certified Dog Trainer (CCDT) through CATCH! Canine Training Academy, committed to using Positive Reinforcement techniques to address behavioral issues, provide puppy training, and offer welcome home training for adopted dogs.

Prior to working with pets, I worked with families for ten years running an in-home daycare which catered to children with special needs. When my sons got older, I wanted to start something new, so I moved to pet care, having owned pets most of my life, it seemed like a good fit.

I come to your home to offer a customized training experience based on either an established curriculum such as puppy class or to work on behavior issues. You can determine your level of participation.

Private In-Home Training

This program bridges the gap from Private training sessions to build skills and confidence to field trips and group sessions to practice and generalize skills. Ginny, the grey dog, could not walk past, much less sit next to another dog before training! The brown dog is my Layla. A big help with sensitive dogs!

Reactivity Training Program

Currently I have a facility in Richmond to teach group classes from Puppy Class and Puppy Socialization Class to Basic Manners, Play and Learn Sessions, and Loose Leash Walking. I will be offering classes again at the Reston location in the Fall.

Group Classes

Training walks are supplemental training sessions where I will reinforce training at the beginning of the walk, practice good manners on the walk and play a game at the end. These are great for maintaining the skills that you worked so hard to teach!

Training Walks

Jenny does fear-free training and is amazing with our dog, Marvin! She breaks down all the concepts and lessons in a very clear, understandable way, and she shows us how to practice them with Marvin. I was determined to only train Marvin in a fear-free, non-aversive way, but had some scepticism that it would work for all training concepts. Jenny has shown us that it absolutely works, and it just takes a lot of repetition, treats, and dedication. Rather than being harsh and stressful for Marvin, training sessions are more like games, and to top it all off, they help build his trust in us and help us continue to bond with him. I've been an on/off client of Jenny's amid post-pandemic, late 2021. Her dog walking services are great with a scheduling app to help communicate services requested and status updates. A few months ago, when she sent out an email blast saying she was expanding her services into specialized dog training 1-on-1, I was very excited to get on board, and it did not disappoint!
